The Blackstone River in Motion
A new summer experience for teens

Have a teen that might enjoy a learning adventure? Join the Museum of Work and Culture and Blackstone Valley Tourism Council for a summer adventure on the Blackstone River.
DAY ONE: The first day will be at the Museum of Work and Culture, a Rhode Island Historical Society Museum. Students will learn about the Blackstone River, the textile industry that was built along its banks, and the effects that industry has had on it
DAY TWO: Teens move to BVTC River Classroom at Central Falls Landing to learn how the growth of urban Rhode Island continues to effect the river. The end of the session will include basic kayak instruction in preparation for the next day
DAY THREE: Teens will return to Central Falls Landing, get into kayaks and spend the morning exploring the river and learning about its natural history.
